“Had I known how vital it is to be around other moms at this time, I would have joined as many as possible!”

You are going to be a mom! Congratulations! Your life has undeniably, incredibly and dauntingly changed forever. It is the most precious gift and the most challenging time. One thing I wish I had known when I was going through my first pregnancy, is the importance of getting out and joining groups with other moms. I was lucky to have gotten into a “mommy and me” group where I live in Los Angeles. And by lucky, I mean I got on the wait list for it as soon as I knew I was pregnant to get a spot in this coveted class. Had I known how vital it is to be around other moms at this time, I would have joined as many as possible! It can be a very lonely time with a newborn and depending on where you live, you may feel very isolated. I encourage you to do some research.

Many places offer affordable and accessible mommy and me groups from yoga classes to classes at kids gyms. Find something that suits you or put out word in your local community and start your own walking group or take the babies to the park. Either way, spending time with other new moms is enormously reassuring and helps us problem solve and realize we are all in this together.

For moms. By Moms.
We Get You. Now You Get Us!
