The Smooth(ie) Operator
To be clear, I am not vegan and you don’t need to wear Birkenstocks or do yoga to dig this! Ha… sorry Gram! A mid-day pick up is the best way I can describe Choc-O-Coco. The chocolate gives you a slight caffeine buzz. The almond butter and coconut cream gives you healthy fuel. Using almond milk instead of cows milk makes it easy to digest. On colder days, heat it up and serve like hot chocolate. It’s a perfect one to throw in a thermos hot or cold.
3 Tbs of raw cocoa nibs
3 cups of almond milk
1 cup of coconut cream, use less almond and more coconut cream for more creaminess
6-8 Tbs cocoa powder
8 Tbs of almond butter
1/2 cup strawberries for sweetness and extra flavor
Maple syrup to sweeten as needed
Blend ingredients together. Add ice for desired consistency. Simmer on stove if drinking warm. When serving, garnish with cocoa nibs.
Makes 4 servings.
